BASIC FASHION DRAWING

 

The study of basic drawing will strengthen fashion design students’ skills in basic observational drawing (drawing from life/still life) through time-tested drawing techniques.

SEWING TECHNIQUES

 

This course is a study of basic sewing techniques that every fashion design student needs to learn first to help them create garments and accessories.  Topics include sewing machine operation, sewing aids and tools, fiber and fabrics, knits and patterns, layout cutting and marking, stitching and seams.

Duration: 8 hours

 

APRIL 22, 24, 29 MAY 2, 6, 8, 9 1-4PM 

FLASH GAME DEVELOPMENT

 

This course is an introduction on how to develop Flash (ActionScript) based games for Android mobile devices. This course will guide students into using a select group of frameworks and Rapid Application Development methods that will allow them to produce a working prototype of a game.  It will also discuss the fundamentals of game development mechanics and layouts.

Duration: 21 hours

 

MAY 13, 15, 16, 20, 22, 23. 27 1-4PM 

WEB DEVLOPMENT USING HTML, CSS, AND BOOTSTRAP

 

This course will teach students how to develop more modern and responsive websites with the use of smart CSS coding techniques and the Bootstrap framework. The expected output of students here would be a possible blog/website of their own design.

MAKE A MOVIE POSTER WITH ADOBE PHOTOSHOP

 

This short course is a fun and exciting introduction to Photoshop, a powerful digital imaging software used by professional graphic designers. It tackles the essentials of building a poster from scratch, taking inspiration from a movie poster for a film genre the students wish to make.

MAY 25, 26, 29 1-4PM 

MAKE A MUSIC VIDEO WITH iMOVIE

 

This short course is an introduction to iMovie, Apple's user-friendly video editing software. While making a music video from found footages, students will learn quick and easy techniques and will unlock more advanced features of the software for creative results. 

Duration: 9 hours

 

MAY 9,13,15 1-4PM 

MAKE A DANCE REMIX WITH GARAGE BAND

 

This short course guides students in building a music mix made from sound loops and digital instruments. Using popular songs as a base tune, students will be trained to do a lively remix and add special effects to make interesting beats. 

Duration: 9 hours

CHARACTER DESIGN

 

This course will go over the fundamentals of design and how to create their own and appealing characters. At the end of the course they will have their own character as well as knowledge to create more on their own.

Duration: 3 hours

 

APRIL 29 9-12NN

MAKING A PRODUCTION BIBLE

 

This course will offer students a chance to work in a group and come up with a story for animation. They will then be asked to create a production bible; a booklet that catalogues the story, designs, and scripts of their story. At the end they will be able to walk away with a hard copy version of their idea.

Duration: 3 hours

FUNDAMENTALS OF DRAWING

 

This class will provide the students with the basic know hows of drawing. They will learn materials, drawing techniques, etc.
