Business is essentially an industry that exists within industries. The schools of business, in nearly all parts of the world, has for the longest time been one of the most stable and lucrative, offering an infinite amount of opportunities. Everything that deals with the production of goods or services within the economy has a business aspect.
The iACADEMY Plaza is centrally located in Makati’s Central Business district, giving students of the School of Business the sharp advantage of an environmental immersion. In the heart of Salcedo Village, a stone’s throw from offices of hundreds of industry partners, iACADEMY is the most convenient and sensible training ground for business students.
Starting this October, Dr. Frederick Halcon will step up as the Dean of Business of iACADEMY. Having spent the past thirteen years in the academe teaching while publishing research papers, Halcon enters iACADEMY with an impressive profile. Halcon’s educational background is purely green, finishing his elementary and high school education at De La Salle Santiago Zobel. He moved on to complete his undergraduate studies in Business Management with a specialization in Applied Corporate Management, a Master’s degree in Applied Economics, and a PhD in Business Studies from De La Salle University Manila. He took a professorial position in the same university, before moving on to Assumption College and St. Scholastica’s College-Manila. Prior to accepting his new position at iACADEMY, Halcon was based in Singapore, teaching in the Raffles School of Business.
“I want to introduce new ideas and concepts that will make students relevant and responsive to the needs of society,” Says Halcon, “I want to highlight the idea of ‘Business with a conscience.’” He continues, “Business is not just about profit. You have to consider society. Sustainability is key.”
Halcon places high value on Corporate Social Responsibility. He has published work in various business journals regarding the importance of social responsibility for individuals and collectives alike and means to strengthen the emphasis on corporate responsibility and environmental sustainability that is already a part school’s already progressive approach to learning.
