iACADEMY Co-Create: Bringing Unique and Creative Solutions to the Real World

The Co-Create Program of iACADEMY takes learning to the next level by identifying real world projects with partners that require real world solutions. We collaborate with leading institutions and industry experts by connecting them to creative minds and innovative ideas. These may be advocacy, product, or service-related projects that make use of student skills to develop output for the benefit of the society and the environment.

Some existing partners include Unilab, Adarna House, Department of Tourism, Climate Change Commission, Canva, among others.

iACADEMY is collaborating with the Climate Change Commission (CCC) in the promotion of a climate-resilient and climate-smart Philippines. CCC exhibited 30 of the students’ designs in CTRL+S Now: A Print Exhibition on Climate Change Awareness and Action during Climate Change Consciousness Week last November 2019. Recently, we’ve also implemented the Co-Create for Climate program with the project theme “Single-Use Plastics” that faculty, students, and various stakeholders have contributed to.

100 iACADEMY students came up with presentation templates & illustration assets for Canva, one of the world-leading graphic design platforms, that are anchored on Filipino culture and the new normal. The objective is to be able to develop innovative and creative themes and assets to entice more Filipino users.

iACADEMY is also collaborating with Museo ng Kaalamáng Katutubò (MusKKat) and Grupo Kalinangan Inc. for different programs with the School of Computing, Business, and Design. Students have the chance to contribute to the development of awareness for notable Philippine indigenous artifacts and various local museums.

To further preserve Philippine art and culture, iACADEMY teamed up with the country’s leading publishing house for children’s books, Adarna House and worked on metabolizing Rizal’s famous works. 145 students came up with their fresh take on book covers, new perspectives of illustrations, and means of integrated multiplatform dissemination with an aim to spark and entice the young reader’s imagination.

iACADEMY's partner, United Laboratories Inc. (Unilab), the country’s largest pharmaceutical company, entrusted 83 2nd year Multimedia Arts and Design Students the challenging task of proposing commercially viable package designs for one of its upcoming brands under Synnovate Pharma Corp. iACADEMY is further collaborating with Unilab for the development of game changing student work that will help improve the lives of Unilab’s community partners.

iACADEMY inked a partnership with the Department of Tourism – Philippines to produce films and augmented reality applications to deliver cutting-edge promotional materials that will support Philippine tourism efforts. In this partnership, Experience Philippines which is an augmented reality mobile app was developed. iACADEMY also developed the Maze app, the country’s first-ever social distancing app.

In the upcoming academic year, we have decided to anchor our Co-Create Program on our Philippine National Artists. Through this initiative, we aspire to elevate the works of our students - future animators, filmmakers and visual artists - by providing them with awareness and knowledge on the works of our National Artists. We would like to support in continuing and taking care of the legacy of these artists so that future artists may take inspiration and learn from them.
