iACADEMY solidifies status as nation’s most innovative school with industry-grade labs

In 2020, the Makati-based institution was named “Most Innovative Education Provider” by UK-based Global Brands Awards, joining a roster of globally respected educational institutions that included Harvard University, the Massachusetts Institute of Technology or MIT and Nanyang Technological University. The recognition made iACADEMY the only Philippine school to receive the distinction that year.
The recognition was not a fluke. The 24-year-old institution was again cited as the “Most Innovative School” at the Global Brand Awards in 2025. These honors reflect iACADEMY's commitment to creating an educational environment that mirrors real-world industries, equipping students with the skills, tools and experiences needed to thrive in today's rapidly evolving economy. It also demonstrates that innovation extends beyond curriculum and into the very spaces where learning takes place.
At the heart of this vision are iACADEMY's state-of-the-art learning facilities — a sound lab, kitchen lab and production lab — which serve as modern-day foundries where future innovators, creators, entrepreneurs and industry leaders are forged.
"We do not build classrooms; we build launchpads," said Raquel Perez Wong, iACADEMY president and COO. "Our facilities are designed to replicate professional environments. So, students can move beyond theory and gain meaningful, hands-on experience long before they enter the workforce."
The school's sound lab is engineered with industry-grade digital audio workstations, mixing boards and recording booths that mirror the environment students will encounter in the real world.
The kitchen lab is a commercial-standard culinary space where students can develop practical competencies in food preparation, kitchen operations, menu development and culinary innovation.
The production lab is equipped with professional-grade cameras and elite post-production suites for students involved in digital content creation, film production, multimedia design and emerging creative industries.
iACADEMY's learning environment has already translated into numerous student achievements in fields ranging from software development and digital design to filmmaking and creative technology. More importantly, it has cultivated a culture where innovation becomes part of everyday learning. One of the most recent student achievements came from two iACADEMY iNDIEGENIUS mentees whose works were recognized in February 2026 as among Asia’s Top 10 Best Films of 2025 by the Asian Movie Pulse.
“Our investment in infrastructure comes at a time when industries are increasingly seeking graduates who are not only academically prepared but also workplace-ready,” said Wong. “By creating environments that simulate real-world professional settings, we are able to help bridge the gap between education and employment. As industries continue to evolve, we remain focused on building environments that empower students not just to adapt to the future, but to help shape it.”
