Philippine Pride: iACADEMY Student Wins Gold at Hong Kong International Computational Olympiad 2026 Heat Round

May 06, 2026

An iACADEMY Senior High School student has brought pride to the Philippines after winning a Gold Award at the Hong Kong International Computational Olympiad 2026 Heat Round (HKICO) 2026, held online on April 5, 2026 with results officially released on April 8, 2026 by the Mathematics Olympiad Training Institute.

HKICO is an event where they gather students across the globe to demonstrate advanced skills in computing and analytics, positioning it as a relevant platform for identifying future innovators and technology leaders.

Brion Lorrich Lim, competing under the Senior Secondary Group, ranked among the top global performers in the competition. Lim’s achievement reflects both individual excellence and the strength of academic preparation in an increasingly competitive global landscape.

“This recognition highlights iACADEMY’s continued commitment to developing industry-ready learners equipped with real-world skills in technology, innovation, and problem-solving. The institution remains focused on bridging academic learning with global standards, enabling students to compete beyond borders.” said by Paolo Antonio Noceda, iACADEMY’s School Principal.

Following his Gold Award, Lim has been invited to the HKICO Finals 2026, which will be held at the National University of Singapore this June, where top awardees from around the world will compete at a higher level.

As iACADEMY, the premiere tech and design school in the Philippines celebrates this milestone, the achievement reinforces a broader narrative: Filipino talent continues to excel globally when supported by relevant education and opportunities, proving once again that the country is home to emerging Game Changers in the field of technology.
