iACADEMY Animation Film “Buhi” Advances in 1st Salida Film Fest Selection Process

Buhi, a 2D paperless animated film by iACADEMY Animation student Mary Anne Cahrop, has been shortlisted to move on to Round 2 of the 1st Salida Film Fest in Baybay City, Leyte.
The film tells the story of a young villager navigating the emotional aftermath of trauma while seeking healing and understanding. Through thoughtful storytelling, Buhi explores themes of resilience and recovery.
The Salida Film Fest celebrates regional and independent filmmaking while providing opportunities for emerging creatives to showcase their work.

Monique Fandagani, Animation Program Coordinator, emphasized the importance of continued participation in festivals and competitions. “Every recognition gives students valuable exposure and helps them understand the impact their stories can have on audiences.”
