iACADEMY Student Filmmaker Receives Film Development Council of the Philippines (FDCP) Film Assistance Grant

iACADEMY continues to strengthen its commitment to nurturing the next generation of Filipino storytellers as VISION mentee Alexa T. Lising was selected as one of the Cycle 1 Grantees of the Film Development Council of the Philippines (FDCP) Student Film Assistance Program 2026. Her short film project, Intramuros in a Matter of Seconds, earned a coveted grant that supports promising student filmmakers in developing original cinematic works.

As part of the program, Alexa attended the official workshop in Intramuros alongside fellow iACADEMY’s VISION cohort member Mario Bate, where participants engaged in learning sessions with industry professionals and mentors. The workshop equipped grantees with practical insights on filmmaking, project development, and navigating the Philippine film industry, while providing opportunities to connect with fellow emerging creatives from universities across the country.

"Programs like the FDCP Student Film Assistance Program provide young filmmakers with the opportunity to move beyond the classroom and into the realities of the industry. Alexa's selection is a testament to her dedication, creative voice, and willingness to tell meaningful stories. At VISION, we are proud to support emerging filmmakers as they develop not only their craft, but also their confidence to contribute to Philippine cinema," said Keith Sicat, Head of iACADEMY’s VISION Creative Unit and President of the Directors' Guild of the Philippines.

Alexa's achievement reflects the caliber of talent cultivated through iACADEMY's industry-driven education and the VISION mentorship program, which empowers aspiring filmmakers to transform creative ideas into impactful stories. By combining academic excellence with real-world exposure, iACADEMY continues to prepare students to thrive in the country's evolving creative industries.

Through opportunities like the FDCP Student Film Assistance Program, iACADEMY students gain access to meaningful platforms that amplify their creativity, develop their craft, and contribute to the future of Philippine cinema: proving once again that iACADEMY students are ready to go Beyond Better as the next generation of game-changing storytellers.
