Taking Creativity Beyond Borders
In June 2020, a team of iACADEMY Senior High School Multimedia Arts students represented the Philippines at the Merlion Film Festival with their short film Ten Seconds. Showcased on an international platform, the film highlighted the students' creativity, storytelling expertise, and technical skills, while demonstrating the global potential of young Filipino filmmakers.
The Merlion Film Festival (MFFS) is an international film festival based in Singapore that serves as a platform for aspiring filmmakers to showcase independent works while promoting creativity, collaboration, and cultural exchange within the global film industry. In 2020, Ten Seconds, created by iACADEMY’s Senior High School Multimedia Arts students, was selected for screening at the Merlion Film Festival, which was held at the Singapore School Manila from June 11 to 15.
The team behind Ten Seconds was composed of iACADEMY Senior High School students Rigel Kent Evangelista, Timothy Fort Ocampo, Maria Evita Miraflor, Zoe Olavides, Faith Moreno, and Miles Cua. Their participation in the Merlion Film Festival showcased their creativity, storytelling abilities, and filmmaking skills, reflecting iACADEMY's commitment to nurturing young creatives and providing opportunities for them to gain recognition on the international stage.
Six years later, iACADEMY remains steadfast in its commitment to developing aspiring filmmakers through quality education, industry-driven learning, and hands-on experiences. This milestone stands as a testament to the institution’s dedication to nurturing creative talent and producing industry-ready professionals equipped to excel and make their mark on the global stage.
